Coaches:
Concussions are threatening our great game of football but the National Football Foundation Jack Grinold Eastern Mass Chapter sees the threat as an opportunity to educate.
As you know, concussion concerns are a huge challenge to our game and coaches at all levels are struggling to figure out what's best for our players. We want to help, and our idea centers on safe tackling. The medical profession has been working hard to educate everyone involved in sports about the dangers of concussions. Our chapter's goal is to help our coaches at all levels drastically reduce the occurrence of concussions in football by teaching safer tackling.
There is a wide range of philosophies on how to teach a player to tackle. Some say they never teach tackling and some feel you must tackle every day. Most of us are somewhere in between. We are encouraging you to use your great instructional abilities to study and teach safe tackling. We hope these videos will give you some ideas on how to keep the game physical and yet safe for all age groups.
The National Football Foundation and the Jack Grionold Eastern Mass Chapter is made up of an experienced cross section of football lovers. From former football players to coaches, officials and administrators past and present, we represent decades of football experience. We believe if our coaches can teach safer tackling we can make our game better and safer. As football coaches know, we can accomplish any task if we set our minds to it.
If you have any ideas to add to our video collection please let us know. Our goal is to meet this challenge to our game and help our young men continue to enjoy and benefit from football.
